WOMEN WE KNOW #30 - Bianca Hirschowitz

 

Bianca Hirschowitz, owner of Fat Tank International - is a person who values her family a lot and lives with the attitude of gratitude and kindness. She loves to travel, Alaska and Cuba are next in her bucket list. She lives by one motto, that the only constant thing in life is change - She shared with us how she deals with her life's hurdles and the challenges she faced in order to get the right swimwear.

 

Who and what do you think of when you hear “Fearlessly Female”?
Ashley Graham, she is very brave to speak out against an industry that favors thin. 

 

Do you have a female leader you admire in your life?
I favor the unsung heroes that people might not know about, everyday heroes who put their hand up and say I don’t have it all together. 

 

What is the one thing that scares you the most and want to try at least once?
Traveling by myself.

 

What is the hardest life hurdle you’ve gone through and what did you take away from it? 
The Death of my father, I’ve learnt to embrace everyday because you never know when its your last and also moving countries twice as an expat, I’ve learnt that life takes you to uncertain places and its best to just go with it. 

 

What keeps you going when things get tough? 
That the only constant in life is change, and this too shall pass. 

 

What is the one life lesson you learned that can’t be taught in school? 
Ha, only one? I guess that its ok to do unconventional things with your life and that there is more than one definition of success. 

 

What is your definition of success? 
People that go out there and chase their dreams, challenge the status quo and learn from their mistakes. 

 

If you weren’t working in the job you are in now, what would you be doing instead? 
Recruitment, its what I did before and I have a passion for it. 

 

What is your ideal holiday?
Exploring different cities.

 

What or who are your style influences?
My sister and my friends but if I had to choose someone well known, I would say Selma Blair, Kourtney Kardashian, and Ashley Graham.

 

What three values are most important to you? 
Family, To live life with an attitude of gratitude and kindness.

Living in a sunny climate, what are some of your must-haves when it comes to your skin? 
I go to Sam Jones for a micro-derma facial it helps clear the gunk out of my skin caused by humidity.

What is one thing on your bucket list?
Travel, travel and more travel. Places like Alaska, Cuba etc.

Where do you see yourself in five years? 
I hope to have sold my business and be filling my bucket list!

Is there a song lyric or a quote you live by? 
I have different ones! But I guess this is my Fight song by Rachel Platten.

What do you think is your best assets?
With a good silhouette, my waist is my best asset.

What are the challenges when you’re looking for the perfect swimwear? 
Something that isn’t too low, I need good hip and stomach cover. 

Do you think there are enough brands catering to curvy women? 
No, until I came across K.Blu, I hated shopping for swimwear. 


What would you expect from KBLU if you have a special request to custom made your own swimwear? 
It would be fun to have an expert guiding me to choose the perfect swimwear for my body type.


What do you think of Asian brands and their size range? 
Tough, I can never go shopping here unless its international brands that cater to larger sizing.

 

Who is your favourite personality? Do you like to dress like her?  
I find that Singapore is super casual so the people who I think have cool fashion sense, are not easy to emulate here. 


Do you like to wear prints or solid colours? 
I like solids, just a preference I guess.
