Women We Know #42- Sofie Di Donato

Sofie is wearing LGB toga one pieceWho you are and why are you in Singapore.

Hi Sophie. Introduce yourself!

An Aussie beach lover, growing up with the best beaches in the world (far south coast of NSW, Australia) I have always been near the ocean, I loved Nippers as a kid (surf life saving) and spending summer holidays at the beach. I moved to Singapore with my husband, we travel often and  enjoy the lifestyle and culture Singapore offers.

We know you are in events planning, what’s your tips in that department pls?

You come from Bondi beach, one of the amazing beaches in the world.

Can you share what’s the beach wardrobe like over there pls?

I spent 10 years in Bondi, before the move to SG. Bondi's style is relaxed, you spend the day at the beach, throw on a caftan, and hit the bars and restaurants.

Sofie is wearing curve one piece.

Which Australian Fashion Designer do you like?

I like Camila Franks use of colour and how she captures Australian beach lifestyle.

What is your ideal holiday?

A trip to Istanbul. The street food is amazing and I love shopping in the bazaar's. It is a place filled with tradition, history, art and Turkish people are known for their hospitality.

What or who are your style influences?

I love Paula Mendoza (jewellery designer), and the style in 'Talented Mr Ripley'

Sofie is wearing Orchid v neck one piece & Orchid kaftan.

What is the hardest life hurdle you’ve gone through and what did you take away from it?

Self doubt. I throw myself into challenges now, otherwise i talk myself out of them. I think women can be very critical of their own abilities.

What is the one life lesson you learned that can’t be taught in school?

Perspective. The things that bother you in school, do not matter in the real world.

What is your definition of success?

Purpose, balance, love, and a smile on your face.

Where do you see yourself in five years ?

Having a BBQ with friends, and family in our backyard. Opening a bottle from our 2013 trip to Provence.

Is there a song lyric or a quote you live by?

'Just do it'
